"dazzle gradually"

"Dazzle Gradually" 2016 poems, paintings, new art & photography--a diary, a discipline, a delight. Read over my shoulder as I post my unedited poetry ---you can see it in the raw.

Pebble

Love is not a fire
it's a pebble in your shoe.
First it's just a bump
First Picnic  Mixed Media on Canvas 2015
then a boulder.
You have to stop.
Take your shoes off.
Then you notice
the grass. It's green
fluffery, crispy,
sticks in your toes.
Slightly damp.
The sidewalk has
little things called
ants. They always
greet one another.
The breeze is delicious.
There's a Blue Jay
squawking
but it's lovely.
And the sky.
The sky is like
a berometer
for your heart.
And the world
has promise.

When you put
your shoes back
on you feel
your skin
pressing against
the old leather.
You are like
an ant, now--
some
where to go.
You greet
everyone.
